Byron Janis
To Receive The National Arts Club Lifetime Achievement Award


Legendary, virtuoso pianist, Byron Janis, renowned as one of the world’s greatest concert pianists, has overcome the obstacles of performing with psoriatic arthritis and has also become a composer, an educator and a humanitarian. He is embarking on a path to bring awareness of the healing power of music as well as its spiritual importance, and on September 12, 2012 he will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by The National Arts Club.


The tribute, hosted by Emmy Award winning NBC Anchor and Journalist, Chuck Scarborough, will feature special presentations by renowned Broadway actors, Robert Cucciolo and Colleen Fitzpatrick. An evening befitting to Maestro Janis, a true living legend, the affair’s program will also highlight musical presentations by pianists, Inna Faliks and Nimrod David Pfeffer, a performance by Vy Higginsen and the Gospel Choir of Harlem, in addition to the presentation of a letter from Andre Watts.
